Make sure to set-up your small wind turbine only where the wind blows

micro arrow image
The windy season is appearing in Europe. INENSUS recommends: Use the windy season to evaluate your wind sitefor most accurate results and find out if a small wind turbine is profitable at your site.

aeolog

micro arrow image
The aeolog compact wind monitoring system for small wind projects and wind solar hybrid systems is available with an integrated solar module since summer 2008. Therefore, no data logger batteries need to be replaced any more.

aeolog 2 - compact wind monitoring system

aeolog is a wind-monitoring-system of 10 or 15 m height which is equipped with up to two anemometers, one wind vane, temperature sensors and a data logger. It can be shipped easily as a standard parcel. The monitoring mast and ready-to-install monitoring equipment can be erected by the customer within 45 minutes. After erection and putting into operation, the system immediately and automatically starts recording the relevant wind speed (in 10-minutes-averages) and wind direction data. After at least 3 months of monitoring, the data stored on the memory card of the data logger is retrieved and analyzed. The data obtained is extrapolated to 12 months based on reference data from nearby weather stations using evaluation software. The same software can be used to evaluate the economic profitability of different wind-system configurations.

Scope of supply

  • aeolog 2 data logger with pv-power supply
  • one combined wind speed, wind direction, and temperature sensor
  • optional second wind speed sensor
  • 10 or 15 m telescopic aluminium mast including base plate, ground anchors, guy wires and booms
  • SD-storage card, integrated pv-module, manual, wooden shipping box, data evaluation software (free download)

Automatic data evaluation

  • current reading, minimum and maximum with time stamp
  • frequency distribution of wind speeds (1 m/s classes)
  • frequency distribution, average and maximum wind speed in 16 wind directions sectors

aeocon

micro arrow image
The aeocon converter for grid-connection of small wind turbines is available since August 2009 in two different versions with 3.6 and 4.6 kW. The patent pending allrounder combines the grid-connection of the turbines with its operation control.

aeocon - grid-tie converter for small wind turbines

aeocon for small wind turbines has been developed based on a concept for which SIEB & MEYER and INENSUS have applied for patent. All components required for operation have been combined in a shapely housing: rectifier, inverter and break circuit. The switchable external load resistor required during soft startup and shut down of wind turbines as well as for overvoltage protection is directly controlled by the overall intelligence of the aeocon making wind turbine and converter become one integrated system.

The controller is especially designed for small wind turbines and ensures controlled start-up and selection of the optimum operating point at different wind conditions. In that way, the best possible efficiency can be gained especially during partial load operation.

Besides control functions, the aeocon also provides different protective functions during the operation - such as controlled deceleration of the wind turbine in the case of a power failure.

The rated power of the device to be connected to a single-phase 230 V mains is specified with 3.6 or 4.6 kW. The output power is adapted to the requirements of the growing market of small wind turbines in this class.
